Hansel Fleischer
“Deadeyes”
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Appearance: Standing at a solid 6'3, Hansel is a foreboding individual to meet for the first time. He's well-built from years of military service and physical activity, and sports a constant cold stare. Being of German descent, he's fair skinned and possesses wavy blonde hair, with sharp red eyes framed by the occasional curl. Despite his approach and the way he carries himself, which is to say always professionally, the bags under his eyes and his usual hunched over posture while sitting tell a very different story.
Backstory: Hansel was part of a military family, with his father having descended from an original Martian private mercenary that had been part of the formation of the Martian Orbital Guard. To that extent, he and his sister have been part of the military from a young age. Once he became of the age to properly enlist, he joined up with a ground regiment before transferring to the Orbital Guard's AA Corps. He showed promise along with his sister, and quickly climbed the ranks to become one of their top pilots.
Specialty: All-Rounder
Emblem: A black hound gripping a flaming torch in its mouth.
Machine: GR5-Hoplite “Garmr”
[SPACE] Hansel’s custom machine from his Martian orbital guard days, it’s painted pitch black, featuring a few red-highlights along joints to assist engineers and mechanics during their work. Its main claim to fame is a precision beam rifle it fields, that can be quickly adjusted mid-flight to sport an additional rocket launcher. Twin missile pods adorn its shoulders, and the Garmr’s rectangular shield has been installed with experimental beam deflection capabilities. Beyond that, the Hoplite’s frame has been refitted to sport additional sub-thrusters. Due to the lack of an extra-arm feature that a Peltast would have, the Garmr’s sub-thrusters are controlled semi-manually, requiring extreme precision and know-how to operate efficiently.
[GROUND] Kept mostly intact, the main changes the Garmr has experience have been in reduction of sub-thrusters to reduce weight and additional armor plating along the torso. The shoulder missile pods have been removed entirely to further compensate for weight, and instead a heat-saber hangs from one of the shoulders. The beam rifle-launcher combination was been replaced with a heavy duty kinetic cannon/rifle combination. The larger bottom barrel is a dedicated cannon, while the barrel above it is dedicated to regular kinetic rounds. A slew of reloadable magazines are slung along its back waist, carrying specialty ammo. The cannon can fire AP, HE, and HV rounds.
